1. Scope, Relationship to Other Notices, and Meaning of Technologies
This Cookie Policy explains how HeyDoWhat LLC ("HDW," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the HeyDoWhat website, web application, and other HDW digital properties that link to this Policy (collectively, the "Platform"). It supplements the HeyDoWhat Privacy Policy. This Policy is a notice, not a contract.
For this Policy, "Cookie Technologies" means cookies, local storage, session storage, browser or device identifiers, embedded scripts, and similar technologies that can store information in, retrieve information from, or otherwise recognize a browser or device. A cookie is a small text file a website can place in a browser. Terms capitalized but not defined here have the meanings given in the Privacy Policy.
2. How HDW Categorizes Cookie Technologies
HDW uses the first-party categories described in Section 3 and the provider technologies described in Section 6. Optional first-party analytics is on by default.
3. The Browser Storage HDW Uses
HDW uses first-party cookies and browser storage in three categories.
Essential. Values that keep you signed in, protect your account and the Platform, and record your privacy preference.
Preferences. Values that remember choices you made, such as the city you picked.
Optional analytics. Pseudonymous browser and visit identifiers used with analytics events, as described in Section 5. They do not operate while optional analytics is off or a Global Privacy Control signal applies.
These values last for the browser session or longer, and you can remove them at any time through your browser settings.
Authentication and conditional third-party features may use their own technologies as described in Sections 5 and 6.
4. Essential, Security, and Functional Technologies
Blocking or deleting essential or functional Cookie Technologies can sign you out or impair the requested service. HDW uses the information Cookie Technologies generate for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy; this Policy does not limit that use.
5. Optional First-Party Analytics
5.1 What Optional Analytics Measures
When optional analytics is on, HDW collects information about how you use the Platform, such as the pages you visit and a pseudonymous browser identifier. Analytics information may be linked to your account and is Personal Information under the Privacy Policy.
5.2 Effect of Opting Out
Opting out stops optional analytics in that browser. Opting out does not delete information already collected.
6. Conditional Feature-Specific Providers
Some providers may use their own Cookie Technologies when a person chooses to load a feature that depends on that provider. HDW does not control the provider's independent policies, browser storage, or processing. Review the provider's notice for more information.

7. Sale, Sharing, Targeted Advertising, and Promoted Placements
HDW does not Sell Personal Information, Share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or conduct targeted advertising as those terms apply under applicable privacy law.
HDW may use your activity on the Platform to choose the sponsored placements it shows you.
8. Controls Available to You
8.1 Your Analytics Choice
You can turn optional analytics off at any time in your privacy settings, and HDW honors Global Privacy Control as an opt-out; while that signal is active, optional analytics stays off.
The choice applies to the browser and device on which it is made. If you clear your browser storage, you must make the choice again.
8.2 Browser and Device Controls
Most browsers and devices provide settings that allow a person to delete, block, or limit cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar data.
HDW does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
8.3 Privacy Requests and Do Not Sell/Share
Privacy-rights requests are made as described in the Privacy Policy and on the Do Not Sell/Share page.
9. Retention and Data Rights
Information collected through Cookie Technologies is retained as described in the Privacy Policy. Clearing your browser storage is not a request to delete your account or other information HDW holds.
10. Changes to This Policy
HDW posts the updated Policy with its effective date. HDW gives reasonable advance notice before a material change to this Cookie Policy takes effect, except that a change required by applicable law or made to address security, fraud or legal risk takes effect when posted.
